StarTrack setup
Connect your StarTrack contract through the AusPost platform.
StarTrack runs through the same Australia Post API platform OrderOps already speaks. You connect your own StarTrack contract with an 8-digit account number.
What you need
- AusPost platform API credentials (client ID and secret)
- Your 8-digit StarTrack account number, entered exactly — no padding
Credentials are encrypted per organisation with AES-256-GCM and validated before the first label. StarTrack credentials never fall back to your AusPost details — separate accounts, treated separately.
How quoting works
StarTrack pricing is a per-product fan-out: OrderOps asks for a quote on each StarTrack product your contract authorises and shows what comes back. If a product isn't on your contract, you won't see it. Domestic only — a non-Australian destination simply returns no StarTrack quotes. For international, use AusPost.
Delivery options, honestly
- Signature (POD): fixed by the product on your contract. It is not a per-shipment choice — no checkbox changes it.
- Authority to leave: works, sent as a delivery instruction.
- Safe drop: not a StarTrack thing. The API rejects it, so OrderOps doesn't offer it.
- Dangerous goods: full structured declaration per item — UN number, technical name, class, packing group, net weight, outer packaging type.
Manifests, voids, multi-parcel
Everything downstream is the shared AusPost machinery: multi-parcel consignments with per-item tracking, end-of-day manifests, and voiding before manifest. Tracking events come back nested per item and are normalised into the same status stream as every other carrier.
Quotes are priced from your merchant location, so what you see at the bench is what StarTrack will bill.
